I came to see Dr. Mattingly with pain and numbness due to a work related injury which caused pain in my shoulder and numbness starting from my ring and pinky fingers running all the way up through my arm, shoulder, and neck. I suffered for one month before coming to Dr. Mattingly. I had seen my general practitioner and had a nerve test done. They wanted to perform surgery to remove this pinched nerve. I was taking muscle relaxers; I took one kind for six days and another kind for one month. I was also taking an abundance of Tylenol, switching to Tylenol-3 and eventually Ibuprofen. The pain was so bad that I’d work my scheduled eight hour shift and then come home and lay down on the couch and the kids would do my household chores for me. I would sleep and cry a lot. It hurt just to sit. I had to give up my hobbies that I enjoyed doing like bowling, crocheting and needlepoint.
After just three weeks of adjustments and ultra-sound, the numbness went out of my ring finger and arm. The pain had lessened so much that I quit taking the muscle relaxers and was taking less Tylenol and Ibuprofen. After six weeks of adjustments on my wrist and elbow, my wrist became more flexible. Within one month of adjustments on my neck I had more range of motion. When the pain had lessened I became a happier person, easier to get along with, and could do my daily activities and hobbies. I believe one hundred percent in chiropractic care, because it helped me feel better, function better at work and I didn’t have to have surgery! I even referred my daughter to Dr. Mattingly after she was involved in a car accident. I’d recommend chiropractic care for everyone.

When I began treatment with Dr. Mattingly, I had severe pain in my arm. I had heard Dr. Mattingly’s radio advertisement and decided to call for an appointment. He used Pressure Point Therapy and other therapies (ultrasound and electric muscle stimulation) to help heal the nerves and muscles in my arm. Now my arm works as good as ever.

I started going to Mattingly Chiropractic in May of this year. I had been to medical doctors for a problem with my knees which is known as Osgood-Schlatter’s disease. This disease causes my knees to hurt constantly, making little things like walking or squatting painful. The medical doctor told me they could not do anything for me until I stopped growing, at which point they could do surgery. However, since I have been going to Dr. Mattingly, he has been adjusting me knees, making the pain almost non-existent.
I have also had a problem for the last several years with enlarged lymph nodes – another problem the medical doctors had no answers for. They put me through several tests to determine what the cause could be, but NO results! They decided that my only option was to remove my swollen lymph nodes. I did NOT have this surgery, because your lymph nodes are important to your body’s health as they help your body flush out toxins. I talked to Dr. Mattingly about this and he put me on some nutritional supplements and in a very short time my lymph nodes were no longer swollen!
After the great success with the nutrition for my lymph nodes, my father asked Dr. Mattingly if there was any nutrition that would help me heal after a recent shoulder surgery to tighten my muscles and ligaments. The surgeon said it would be at least 3 to 4 months before I would be able to do much with my shoulder. After 5 days on these nutritional supplements I went for a checkup with my surgeon. He was AMAZED to see that I had no swelling and I had much more motion than he had anticipated after such a short time. It has only been six weeks since my surgery and I had full range of motion with no restrictions!
Although I had never been to a chiropractor before, I have had such great results that I strongly recommend chiropractic care to anyone.

I started treatment in 1996 for a Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) condition (a TMJ condition can cause pain and discomfort in the jaw, neck, and back). My jaw went out which resulted in an improper alignment of my teeth. I am a dental assistant and have been actively for 15 years. This condition did not come as a surprise to me. In my past years of experience, dental patients with the same or even worse conditions have been referred to a “TMJ specialist.” Treatment at these offices have involved weeks and months and resulted in slight to moderate relief. This can involve a series of impressions and the wearing of dental splits and braces.
I sought treatment with Dr. Mattingly after talking in great length about the chiropractic solution to my condition. We discussed how this differed from how I had been taught to treat the condition dentally. It made good sense to me, after listening to Dr. Mattingly’s in depth yet understandable explanation, to treat the cause of my symptoms, which was the misalignment of my spine. After four treatments my jaw was back into position and my teeth aligned correctly. I am continuing treatment to secure Dr. Mattingly’s resolution. I am glad I made the decision to see Dr. Mattingly, for he, in my eyes, is definitely the “specialist” for treatment of TMJ conditions.

I suffered from several things before coming to see Dr. Mattingly. I had had Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for two years. For ten years I had endured migraine headaches. This past year I had stiffness in my neck so severe that I was not able to turn my head. These three problems affected my normal life enormously. I found it hard to open jars and grasp items. With the migraines I found it hard to function at all while at home or work. The neck stiffness was painfully noticeable when driving my car.
I saw an orthopedic surgeon for my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. He performed surgery and the symptoms still remained. This relieved the pain, but did not get rid of the problem. I had not seen a doctor for the neck stiffness until I came to see Dr. Mattingly.
I have only been coming for three months but already I have seen results. The numbness and pain are not as extensive in my hands and arms. I have only had two migraine headaches a month. These were not as severe as they had been. I have had much more movement of my head and neck with less pain. Overall I have had much more freedom of movement. Medication was just masking the symptoms. I am much more aware of my own job as a maintainer of a healthy body. I am better in general. By working hard at walking daily and taking minerals, I am in much better health. I am looking to the future that my diabetes will be helped by my nutrition and supplement program too.

I initiated chiropractic care in January of 1996 and by April my two problems had been corrected. While this may seem to be a long time in receiving chiropractic care, one must consider the problem too.
Problem number one was in my neck. I had numbness and tingling in my left shoulder that would sometimes extend to my left elbow. I had dealt with this problem for over a year until I realized that I had lost much range of motion in my neck. Problem number two was in my lower back. For three months I suffered the loss of range of motion and numbing pain down my left hip and thigh. Both of these health problems were affecting my life. I bowl, golf and work out at a health club. Each week I saw myself slowly becoming less flexible with additional loss of range of motion.
After twenty-eight visits and stretching exercises, my problem are now erased. I realized that it is in my best interest to see Dr. Mattingly once every month to six weeks. I feel that this form of preventative care is far better than waiting a year and a half and suffering pain and loss of motion and activity. I highly recommend the benefits of chiropractic care. The improved health benefits coupled with a higher quality of life speak for themselves. I am highly impressed with chiropractic health care and the flexibility I have gained.

For three years or more I have suffered from low back pain that steadily got worse. I also had neck and shoulder tightness as well as carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand and arm. Working with these conditions was very hard. I am a hair stylist and am on my feet all day. I could not get a good nights sleep. It hurt bad even to roll over. People commented on how I walked and carried myself. Just a full day's work around the house was difficult. I had not seen any doctors before I came to see Dr. Mattingly. It took no more than three weeks to feel better. It was a definite improvement. I do not ever regret seeking Dr. Mattingly. It has made everyday living and activities normal again.

Dr. Mattingly is the best chiropractor I have EVER been to in my life. I have a history of lower back pain, neck pain and a general weakness of the muscles in my back.
The other day, I was sleeping in a chair for half an hour. When I tried to get up, I couldn't. The pain in my lower back was electrifying. I nearly collapsed in pain. The next day, as soon as I could get there, Dr. Mattingly gave me the best adjustment ever. I knew beforehand he could fix it. And he did. The pain was TOTALLY gone after the adjustment.
I "bow down" to you, Dr. Mattingly, because you deserve it, and because I CAN!

Dr. Mattingly has returned a normal, active life to me. I've enjoyed my career as a dentist, I've enjoyed motorcycling, gardening and many other active hobbies. But as of late, all these activities have been painful, due to my spine losing its normal curvature. Now, I don't have acute pain anymore and I'm gradually getting back flexibility and a wider range of motion in my shoulders and neck.
Dr. Mattingly keeps his approach simple: pressure point therapy to relieve tension and very effective adjustments to correct body problems. I've never had a health care practitioner deliver such high quality service at each and every appointment. He gives thorough attention to all parts of the body. In addition to all this, he makes the appointments fun!
All my best to the best,

I started chiropractic care early this year around the first of February, after I had been pumped full of drugs for the last four years, for rheumatoid arthritis. The drugs were causing a lot of problems with my liver and internal organs, and I was still in pain and couldn't walk half the time. I went to the Mayo Clinic, had muscle shock tests, biopsies, etc. It seemed like I had millions of laboratory tests. They put me on steroids and sent me home with a "Learn to live with it" attitude.
Things got worse. I gained weight on the steroids. One of the worst side-effects was the "Moonface" (swelling which give the face a round appearance). My body was sore and puffy and my nerves were shot. My confidence just left me, and my health was going with it. My Medical Doctor told me he wanted to change my medicine from one that was ruining my liver to one that was even worse for it. He told me I needed blood tests every three weeks to take this medicine because of the liver damage. I was sick and scared. I decided that I had to do something else. I tried chiropractic care.
Dr. Mattingly spent a lot of time with me. He started me on a plan of nutritional vitamins and supplements. I would see him three times a week. He listened to what I was saying, and if he did not have an answer right then, he said so, and then he would find one. It took about a month before I started to notice any real difference and it has improved every month that I have seen him. I don't take any medication, not even pain pills. (Once in a while I will take an aspirin.) My pain is a lot better. I still have some sore spots once in a while, but the pain is not as intense. My health has improved, I would say, by 80 percent. I have lost 65 to 75 pounds, not on a diet, but by simply as a result of getting my body working right. I feel I made the right decision. Chiropractic care has given my life and body back to me. Thank you Dr. Mattingly.
