I'm standing up straight again

I began treatment with Dr. Mattingly on June 29, 2001 after being referred by a friend. I was losing the ability to walk straight and over a period of time the condition was getting noticeable worse. Being on my feet for a long period of time exhausted me. Although I had excellent results with foot surgery I had several years ago, I was not walking straight and I was not standing erect. I was taking pain medicine and was not sleeping well at all. Thanks to the good care of Dr. Mattingly I am now finding it more comfortable to stand erect instead of slumping as I did before; I am walking straight again; I’m taking less pain medicine; and I am sleeping! I also noticed that my handwriting has improved since I seem to have more control.

Tremors, fatigue, blurred vision…. all handled

For two and a half years I had been suffering from epileptic seizures, extreme fatigue, tremors, blurred vision, snowy or grainy peripheral vision, daily headaches and extreme migraines. The migraines would last anywhere from an hour to a week and were so bad that I would have to isolate myself in a dark room with no noise, often becoming nauseated from the pain. For over ten years I have suffered from neck and shoulder pain, back and hip pain; all were direct results from two car accidents. Since Thanksgiving of 1998 I had been “eating” Tylenol and Excedrin like candy for headache pain. In January 1999, extreme fatigue hit. I was so tired all the time, I could barely function. And by March of 1999, I experienced my first seizure.

I was missing massive amounts of time from work. My family doctor kept having blood work done; he had me spend a night in Proctor’s “Sleep Lab” to determine if I had a sleep disorder. That turned out negative. My doctor was baffled; he was really at a loss. I was then referred to a neurologist and was put through an EEG and a MRI. Less than two weeks before the results from the EEG came back as positive for seizures, I was fired from my job. The neurologist put me on seizure medication, anti-depressants, migraine medication, etc. He referred me to a seizure specialist. I was eventually able to get off the anti-depressants. I was put in the hospital for seven days for a “Video EEG”, and more blood work (while I was in the hospital and afterwards).

I had also been to other chiropractors periodically over the years, but none gave me more than minor relief until I was encouraged to come see Dr. Mattingly. I was aware of Dr. Mattingly’s practice through his cousin who is a friend from college. However, it was my mother who got me to try “one more chiropractor.” That’s how I began treatment on July 9, 2001. Within three weeks of adjustments from Dr. Mattingly, 85 to 90 percent of my headaches were gone. Most of my tremors were gone. My vision had completely cleared up: no more blurring and no more snowy/grainy peripheral vision. My neck, shoulders, back and hips were also better. The pain was at a minor, tolerable level.

I now look forward to a life without pain, headaches, impaired vision and tremors. Thank you, Dr. Mattingly! I wish I had come to you sooner!

Dr. Mattingly handled my fibromyalgia symptoms

In late March or early April I was listening to the radio and heard the program that Dr. Mattingly was airing about Pressure Point Therapy and how it was being used to help people with severe problems, including fibromyalgia, a condition that I have suffered from for years. I had extreme pain all over and hated to be touched. I had little range of motion. I was chronically fatigued. I have seen many doctors over the years including orthopedist, neurologist and another chiropractor. In my quest for relief I have tried just about all available remedies or therapies. I have done aqua exercises, ultrasound, and have taken most pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medication such as Celebrex, Naperson, and actually participated in a Motrin study in 1982. I literally was surviving on pain pills! Eventually I would either have a reaction to the medication or build an immunity to it.

I decided to try the Pressure Point Therapy and I set up an appointment to see Dr. Mattingly on April 19, 2002. I was impressed right away that he was tailoring a treatment plan that fit ME, not just going through the steps and sending me on my way.

I have to confess though that for about the first three adjustments I was feeling pretty sore, and I almost quit before the real benefits took effect. Even my family said to me, “And you think this is helping you?” Now I am so glad that I did hang in there! My range of motion has improved dramatically; the pain reduction is tremendous – where I was so fatigued before, I now have spurts of energy! And I am taking significantly less medication now. I can only thank Dr. Mattingly for this relief and recommend anyone to try Pressure Point Therapy and Chiropractic Care.

Lower back pain is gone

As the pastor of a church, I am not in a position to get much exercise. I am often sitting as I prepare for my sermons, or talk with parishioners and their families or friends. Consequently, over the years I have developed some health problems.

I began seeing Dr. Mattingly in March 2002 after deciding that I was not getting the results that I was hoping for through another doctor. I had been taking some medication for arthritis, but it was not helping much. I felt that maybe a chiropractor would help, so I asked around for a reputable chiropractor in the area, and Dr. Mattingly was suggested. When I started treatment, I was experiencing a lot of lower back pain, my thighs had a hot/burning sensation, and my legs were weak and not very dependable. Dr. Mattingly began doing electronic muscle stimulation, chiropractic adjustments and some simple exercises. He also recommended some nutritional supplements that have been very beneficial.

Now, after just a few months, I have seen some real progress. Although I have a ways to go yet, most of the pain is gone in my lower back. I still tire easily when walking for too long a distance, but my legs are more dependable and I feel much better. Dr. Mattingly has helped me a lot, and I would recommend him to my family and friends.
